When the González-Martínez family began growing tobacco in the mountains of Puriscal, many were skeptical. Costa Rica, they said, was no place for it. They chose not to listen. They planted where no one else dared: in the highlands, where the air is thinner and the mist arrives before the sun. And, with time, the land proved them right.

 

IGM Mountain Tobacco was born from that quiet conviction. A line cultivated at Finca de la Paz, more than 2,300 feet above sea level in Bocanas de Puriscal, where the mountain climate and morning mist—the same mist that blankets the leaves at every sunrise—give life to tobacco with a character found nowhere else in the world.

Four harvests a year, because here the land never rests, and neither do we.

Its three vitolas bear the names of three emblematic creatures of Costa Rica, as vibrant as the biodiversity that inspires them:

Frog, small but impossible to ignore—its vivid colors revealing its character before you even know it.

Sloth, slow by choice, not by weakness—because some things, the good ones, cannot be rushed.

Toucan, striking and self-assured—the one that never needs to raise its voice to be noticed.

 

Three creatures. Three temperaments. One origin.

 

Because this tobacco does not simply come from a country: it celebrates it.
